If You Start the Class, They Will Come

After desperately missing teaching in the young marrieds SS class in Little Rock (we miss all of you so much!), Ben and I (mostly Ben) started a new SS class here for marriage and parenting! Our church had a shameful lack of classes during the second hour of church, so Ben created this one. It was awesome to see him planning, meeting with others for prayer, preparing, etc...

We had no clue as to how many people would come so I baked/cooked several things and Ben ran off agendas, we set up tables and chairs, and then waited.

Remember the line: "If you build it, they will come"? Well, this was "If you start that class, they will come"! It was incredible! There were 40 people there! That's right, I said 40! We know of at least two couples who couldn't be there today and will be there next week. There was even one couple who told the preschool director that they need to be moved to teaching a different hour so that they can attend the class!

God is so faithful, generous, and certainly provided beyond what we could imagine or dream! Praise God!

Oh that makes me so happy! You and Ben will be able to reach out to a whole new group of people! You'll inspire them as much as you've inspired us! I'm so happy...God is good!

We loved class today, Lisa! I also told Bailey that we need to be moved to first hour nursery duty so as not to miss. I wasn't sure what Alan was going to think about the "traditional" service and thought it could be a deal breaker, but we enjoyed it and feel affirmed about where God wants us right now. Thanks for starting the new class!

What a wonderful ministry for you & Ben! I would love to read the lessons by e-mail or blog, so we can gain even more wisdom from you & Ben! Please share the information from SS class! We miss you guys so much, too!

Aww, I'm a little jealous:) We really miss you guys too. You taught us so much and made a lasting impact on our lives. I'm glad to hear God is using you in such a great way. By the way, I agree with Tara on your earlier post. Maybe you need to do a post about what chores kids can do for all us less experienced moms. (In all your free time, HA!)
