The Countdown to Christmas Begins! 10 ....!

Today the kids and I worked on making some really pretty ornaments to give as gifts. To make them you need: ribbon, paint, glass ornament, small cup.
You start by taking the loop part of the ornament off. Then pour at least two colors of the paint in the ornament.
Now you have a glob of paint in the bottom. Swirl it around. Place your finger over the opening and shake if you need to.

Then turn the ornament upside down in the small cup so that the excess paint can drain out.

So, I couldn't get the orientation of this pic right, but you get the idea...You put the loop part back on the ornament and then tie a bow around. It is really pretty when you are done.

These are the ornaments my kids made today. They did a beautiful job and had a great time doing it! They are going to give one to each of their AWANA leaders and I am going to give one to the choir leaders.

Then we baked up the 13 dozen or so cookies from the dough that I made and froze in September!
Tomorrow it's gingerbread men and making some of the jar mixes I have been thinking about. We are giving the cookies and the jars to our neighbors on our street.

These are the moments your kids will remember in 30 years...and recreate with their kids.

What a great idea. I might buy some of those ornaments for our Christmas Eve Brunch as gifts! I'm also baking today. Sugar, Chocolate Chip, and Gingerbread Cookies. Then I'm going to make Pumpkin Bread and stick it all in the freezer til next week! I can't wait!

Those ornaments look great. Greyson made some just like that the other night only we shredded paper and then put glitter in them. He and the paint might not have meshed well, although he would have loved it. He still has glitter all over him though!
